Matthew Meredith is an entrepreneur with five start-ups to his credit. As a small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) advisory specialist, he plays the role of intermediary between entrepreneurs, capital providers and government. In addition to this role at Absolute Options LLC, he is currently Managing Principle at Lixia Capsia Gestionis, an independent advisory that enables entrepreneurial action and investment by promoting economic growth in emerging and frontier markets focused on Northwest Africa.
Among his recent entrepreneurial activities, in April 2014, he launched the company Atlas Cold Port SARL to create USD 13 Million a fresh food logistics hub at the Port of Tanger Med on a 13,000M2 site. Together with his team and partners, he originated the project, developed the investment proposal, negotiated a joint venture (JV) structure with Moroccan, Spanish and US partners and originated government backed debt guarantee. As a Managing Director with Upside Capital SARL, he has executed fund raising mandates for numerous entrepreneurs in the Maghreb. His previous experience includes founding a frozen food production and distribution company in Germany and raised ca. Euro 10 Million to finance its growth from a small local company to become a national distribution company.
Matthew is also a professor of executive education at Al Akhawayn executive center in Casablanca, Morocco. He has a BA from Tufts University in International Relations and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Business. In addition to professional level German and French, he has advanced Arabic language training.
